So far as finance is concerned, I have no hesitation
in saying that I could secure the capital through our frienda
when the War is over if the Peace terms are what we all hope and expect directly we, as contractors, could see our way

to enter into a contract for the construction and equipment
of the tramway which would satisfy those providing the capital,
and I am confident that I could without di:iiculty satisfy the
Government that this statement is well founded and could be
relied on.
For your information I can state that we have financed
through our friends, and carried out the complete contracts for
the construction and equipment of the following Undertakings:-
Rhondda Tramways Co.

Torquay Tramways Co.

Mexborough & Swinton Tramways Co. "
Musselburgh & District Tramways
Wisbech Electric Light & Power .

Undertaking
As further evidence of the financial support which
I can command I might mention that in the year 1914, when
capital was certainly difficult to raise, I had no difficulty
in seouring £46,000, for the City of Oxford Electric Tramways Dd.
for the purpose of providing between 20 and 30 motorbuses
required to comply with an agreement I was negotiating with the
Corporation. The only security was my estimate of results,
coupled with a statement that I would get an agreement with the
Corporation and an not of Parliament to confirm it. As a matter
of fact the motorbus service was in operation before the
agreement was completed, although subsequently the agreement and
